Golf Scramble Rules

Three Golfers
Golfer Reading a Green

Four Man Team Scramble

  • Every man hits every shot with the best shot of the 4 being used. You place the ball within 12 inches of the best shot (no closer to the hole) and then continue until you are in the cup. If you are behind a tree or obstacle, or in the rough, you must not improve your lie.
  • Automatic bogey rule
    • Once you reach bogey on a given hole, for speed of play reasons, please pick you ball up and move to the next hole.
    • You must make your birdie and par putts. No putts given unless they are for bogey.
  • Ages 59 and under use White Tees.
  • Seniors (Age 60+) – Use white tees on Par 3’s. If a Par 4 or Par 5 has Gold Tees, then use them. Otherwise, use the White Tees.
  • Longest Drive – Hole #2/#11 and #6/#15 – Senior and Diaper Dandy
  • NEW – Hole #4/#13 and #9/#18 – Par 5 – Closest to the Pin in two.
    • You don’t need to be on the green, but any ball that comes to rest on the putting surface is considered closer than a ball that came to rest on the fringe, fairway, rough, or sand.
    • You must be within 100 Yards of the green after two shots to be eligible to win this prize. If your second shot comes to rest in a hard to see location, but it is closer than the best attempt, please pace off how far you are from the pin and then place the proximity marker that many paces from the pin in a more visible location in front of the green.

  • Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive proximity markers are not reset at the turn of the nine.
  • Turn Score Card in at table in the Club House.

3 Man Teams

  • You must rotate who takes the extra shot (in other words, you don’t get to choose who is going to go take the extra shot based on their strength or weakness).
  • You get four tee shots on every hole including Par 3’s.
  • Each player’s first shot is the only shot that counts for Proximity/Distance Prizes. Your extra shot (4th shot) on a Par 3, does not count toward Closest to the Pin prize.
  • After you tee off, you only get three shots from each spot you play from for the remainder of the hole. If you think this is unfair, then please recruit the best fourth player you can find for next year.

Prizes

  • The 1st Place and 2nd Place teams in the scramble will win a sleeve of golf balls for each golfer.
  • Each player that wins a proximity prize (Closest to the Pin or Longest Drive) will receive a sleeve of golf balls.
